Any technical artist working in games, film, real-time media, or related fields can be nominated. This includes shader artists, rigging engineers, VFX artists, pipeline TDs, procedural artists, and technical art directors.
Yes, self-nominations are welcome. You will need to provide your name, email, the category you are nominating for, and a description of your work.
There are six categories: Shader & Material Systems, Rigging & Character Systems, Real-time VFX, Pipeline & Tool Development, Procedural Systems & Workflows, and Technical Art Direction.
An invited panel of experienced technical artists and industry professionals reviews all accepted nominations. Judges evaluate submissions based on technical excellence, creativity, impact, and presentation. Each category has its own winner selected by the judges.
No. Nominations, voting, and watching the live ceremony are completely free.
Nominees can upload images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP) and videos (MP4, WebM, MOV) as supporting materials. Individual files are limited in size to ensure a smooth experience for all users.
The Technical Art Awards ceremony is held as a live online event. Dates are announced on the homepage and through our communications. Check the site regularly for updates on the next ceremony.
During the voting period, anyone can cast one vote per category for their favorite nominee. Votes determine the Audience Choice award, which is separate from the judges' selections. Voting is free and requires no account.
